Prontosan aerosol -disinfection and wound healing, 75 ml, Braun

Preparation for cleaning, rinsing and moisturizing superficial wounds. Disinfectant and bactericide preparation.

Composition

purified water, surfactant betaine, 0.1% polyaminopropyl biguanidine (polyhexanidine)

Action

Accelerates healing through optimal wound debridement. It thus reduces the formation of scars, unpleasant odor. Prevents wound infection, bacterial film formation. Protects against antibiotic-resistant microorganisms (MRSA, VRE, ESBL). For moistening wound dressings and during dressing changes to dissolve scab-covered dressings. Reduces pain.

Does not cause pain and pinching during application. Does not irritate. Product well tolerated. Does not inhibit granulation and epidermis. Does not raise dermatological concerns.

Indications

For cleaning, rinsing and moisturizing superficial wounds (e.g., skin cuts, bites, cuts, abrasions, cracks and crushing wounds) and superficial burns from fire and chemicals.

How to use the medical device

Apply Prontosan® wound aerosol for cleaning and rinse to the entire wound surface and surrounding area. This reduces the risk of infection and creates optimal conditions for the healing process. Then cover the wound with a dressing. Use Comfifast viscose sleeve bandages to hold the main dressing in place.

The medical device is ideal for preparing atopic skin before using the wet or dry dressing method with Comfifast.

Glued or scabbed dressings can be moistened with Prontosan® wound spray so that the dressing comes away from the wound and pain is not felt when removing the dressing.

Contraindications and precautions

• Prontosan wound aerosol must not be used if you have known allergies or suspect an allergy to any of its ingredients.
• Do not use continuously for more than 30 days.

Possible side effects of the medical device

In very rare cases, a slight burning sensation may occur on the wound surface immediately after applying the Prontosan wound spray, but this subsides after a few minutes.

Prontosan products may cause allergic reactions such as hives with itching and skin rash.

Very rarely (less than 1 patient in 10,000), allergic reactions such as anaphylactic shock have been reported.
